If you’re learning how to grout tile, you can learn how to do it quickly and easily. The first thing to do is to find the right kind of grout mixture. For grout lines that are more than 1/8 of an inch, you want to use sanded grout that will not lose its form once it starts to dry out. If you are installing grout that has a very small line, you want to use unsanded grout. The reason for this is because sanded grout will probably be too thick for the sand to adhere very well. Make sure that all your tiles are properly spaced and fitted before you start applying the grout. Also make sure that you mix the grout compound well and that there are no lumps.
Then, you want to take a float and apply the grout directly to the cracks. You need to press the grout in all around the tile and then sweep off the excess grout. This is pretty hard to do as it requires as much time to do. As you are installing the grout, take a break every 20 or 25 minutes, and go back and wipe off the surface of the tiles with a large sponge or a rag. This will help save you a lot of cleanup later on.
The Next Step is to Seal Your Grout
Some people may find grout sealing as a laborious and very tedious task to do. I want to prove them wrong. There are easy steps on how to seal grout that I can share in this article. Once you have the right material to use, I don’t think it will be a very difficult job for you to do it. First, clean your tile with bleach diluted with water. Spray it all over your tile and grout, and brush off the stain. Once you see that the color of your grout is back to its original look and there is no more dirt on it, then it is already your sign to start sealing your grout.
For fast grout sealing, you can put the grout sealant in a spray bottle, and spray it equally in the surface of the grout that you wish to seal. Do the application for at least 2-3 times to make sure that the grout is properly sealed. Let it dry for 24 hours.
